Meet Our Instructors

SheriSheri Kauhausen is the proprietor of INTO YOGA.

Sheri began practicing classical hatha yoga as a toddler. At the age of 10 she attended her first public class. Her passion for yoga continued to grow throughout her teenage years and into adulthood as she studied with many great teachers.

Sheri enjoys teaching in the Corporate environment as well as in Community Centers. In 1987 Sheri began teaching yoga to students at beginner and intermediate levels. She also teaches senior citizens, and pregnant women and couples.

Sheri is a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance and was a founding member of the Yoga Association of B.C. She is also a certified Baby Sign Language instructor.
AlenaAlena
is a CanStat certified Alexander Technique specialist with over 3 years of full time study under her belt. The technique is taught at the major performance arts schools across the globe, such as Royal Academy in London, the Juilliard School in New York and Capilano University in North Vancouver. Alena has also been a certified Yoga Instructor since 2009. And is certified to teach Yoga for Scoliosis (studied with Elise Browning Miller). Alena loves to dance and learn salsa with her coach, W.S.F. World Salsa Champion, Alfonso Caldera. She is proud to perform at Seattle Salsa Congress with Bravo Dance Amateur Team in 2017.
Angela
is a registered trauma-informed bilingual yoga instructor for children, teens, and adults. A movement enthusiast, dance is her passion and Cumbia Music runs through her blood. She uses her previous experience of anxiety and low self-esteem to empathize and connect with her clients. Angela has successfully helped children, teens & adults improve their relationship with themselves, their families, and the people around them through her powerful classes and is currently focused on helping people in Vancouver experience the same results. She’s excited about the addition of Pilates to her list of health modalities.
Angora
found Yoga more than a decade ago. Over the years, she earnestly studied with teachers from various lineages and styles. She believes that yoga is not just about how a posture looks from the outside, but an experience, when embodied, transformative and transcendental for higher purposes. As a RPYT, teaching prenatal yoga has revealed to her the true meanings of surrendering and releasing control, as well as the path to honour our bodies. Her classes are inclusive and trauma-informed, inspiring students to become more attuned to their inner wisdom and having a deeper connection with themselves.
Amanda B
is a trauma-informed yoga teacher, Ayurvedic Practitioner and Reiki master with focus on nervous system regulation, breath and energy work.
As a teacher, she is committed to bring yoga and meditation as accessible tools for people to cultivate connection and relaxation.
In her classes she provides a safe space for you to slow down, be present, find calm amidst the chaos, and connect with your body with curiosity and kindness.
Amanda D
was first introduced to Yoga when she lived in Montreal, Quebec. While teaching Recreational Gymnastics to children, she was asked if she also teaches Yoga. She was told that her warm up was very similar to a yogic practice. Never having done Yoga before, it was time to try.

Since her very first Yoga class, she knew she wanted to be a Yoga Teacher. Her love for the practice grew; leading her to Vancouver to complete her Yoga teacher Training.

Her peaceful and playful presence will allow you to learn while having fun throughout the class and feel relaxed by the end of class.
Andree
has been volunteering and teaching in the fitness industry since 2010. She has been passionate about fitness, health and wellness since her young adulthood, and encourages lifelong wellness. Andree is experienced teaching older adults, promoting safety, balance, good posture and offering modifications when necessary.
Avery
is a yoga instructor, dance artist, and mother living on the unceded territories of the ʷməθkʷəy̓əm, sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and sel̓íl̓witulh Nations. Since being drawn to yoga over a decade ago for its physical benefits, it has become an integral part of her life, leading her to become a Yoga Alliance certified teacher in 2019. A forever student, Avery carries her knowledge and curiosity of many other movement modalities into her energizing and supportive yoga classes.
Brenda
began her personal practice in 2005. Creating such an amazing impact on her life, she was compelled to bring the experience to others. She received her Yoga teacher training through SOYA and currently teaches Hatha, gentle Hatha, Yoga for larger bodies, Yin and restorative. Brenda believes Yoga is for every body no matter what their size. She challenges students to explore themselves with an open heart, open mind and most importantly compassion. Brenda is happy to share her passion for yoga, and living a playful, balanced, fun and healing lifestyle.
Carol-Ann
is an artist, traveler, and student of life. She loves creative play and facilitating it in others, whether in front of a canvas or on a yoga mat. Carol-Ann discovered yoga many years ago as a healing tool to recover from a low-back injury. Thinking it would be a short-term fling, she tried it out and has been in a long term committed relationship with it ever since. “Yoga really can transform your body, and as it does, it can’t help but transform your mind and heart as well.”. Carol-Ann mostly teaches mixed-level vinyasa yoga, with breath-centered mindfulness, and modifications for each posture to accommodate a wide range of body types, fitness levels and physical ailments. She also enjoys teaching yin and restorative yoga. “The field of Yoga is so vast, just like art. Just because you don’t like a particular painting doesn’t mean you don’t like art. Keep seeking out different styles and teachers until you find a practice that feels FABULOUS in YOUR body.” Carol-Ann has been regularly practicing for several decades, and her practice has helped her to heal physically, emotionally and spiritually, and to become more compassionate and fearless, on and off the mat. Carol-Ann would love the opportunity to share the knowledge and kindness that has been graciously imparted to her along her journey.
Cheryl's
love of yoga and many years as a practitioner in Hatha yoga led her to become certified as a yoga teacher. Recently retired from teaching at SFU’s School for the Contemporary Arts dance program, she is delighted to be teaching yoga classes in the community. A former professional dancer and choreographer who performed and toured with several renowned Canadian dance companies, Cheryl has an extensive background in a variety of movement practices. In addition to her yoga teaching certification, she is a Certified Movement Analyst (CMA) in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies and certified in the Level 1 Franklin Method. Cheryl teaches a flow-style yoga class and brings her knowledge of injury prevention and attention to body alignment to her teaching. Her classes emphasize strength, flexibility and balance, and moving with calm and ease. In Cheryl’s classes students find a safe space in which they feel supported and empowered to adapt their individual yoga practice according to their abilities and needs.
Christine A
is a teacher of movement classes that are trauma-informed, strengths-based, and open to all bodies and gender presentations. She teaches with warmth, in a style that is grounded in pilates but sometimes incorporates yoga, dance, mindfulness, and some other modalities that she has studied along the way. Christine is a life-long student of movement and this practice is a source of mental focus and agency, grounding and clearing, connection and aliveness.
Christine S
fell in love with yoga over 20 years ago, first as a complement to her creative performance practice, later as the balance to a stressful career in academia, and finally as the ground for a way of living more in tune with our inner knowing. Christine’s approach to yoga is to build a healthy balance between strength and stability and integrate the sensing mind with the feeling body. Like a moving meditation, her classes cultivate more fluid movement, flexibility, core integrity, play and deep calm in a supportive space that honours each student’s unique presence. Her teaching is based on the seven principles of Vijnana yoga: embodying ease, establishing a quiet mind, focusing through intention, finding lightness through ground, balancing connection, awareness of breath and creating inner and outer spaciousness. Christine is certified in Vijnana yoga (800hr), Classical Hatha and Ashtanga (200hr) and Restorative yoga (70hr). She finds joy in teaching students of all levels and abilities.
ClaudiaClaudia
is an experienced Dance educator and Pilates instructor originally from Argentina, she is curious about both our functional and expressive body as well as about dancing in community. She has trained in somatic movement techniques, physical theatre, contact improvisation and Afro-Brazilian dances. She is constantly challenging herself to learn new dances from around the world and is always thrilled to share her passions with both kids and adults.
Deeptha
started her yoga practice as a young teenager in India. She has since been certified in Hatha and Ashtanga-vinyasa yoga. Deeptha is very passionate about spreading her love for yoga and movement. She has had experience in teaching students of different levels across Asia, Australia and North America. Although primarily certified in yoga, Deeptha includes elements of barre, pilates and calisthenics in her classes. Her teaching style is gentle, nurturing and inclusive and she believes that all students would benefit from a consistent and sustainable practice.
Emily's
yoga style is trauma-informed, consent-forward, and accessibility-minded. She hopes to create soft spaces where folks can bring their whole selves to the mat. Drawing on lived experience, storytelling, yogic philosophy, astrology, and education, Emily's work is to listen to the wisdom of the body, live as their truest self, and inspire others to do the same. Emily’s classes encourage participants to cultivate a practice of listening to their bodies, slowing down busy minds, and feeling safe to try new things. Everything is simply an offering: you are always in choice.
Jeanne
practiced yoga for many years before taking her 200 hours YTT. She had additional training in yin, restorative, and children's yoga. In her classes you can expect a focus on alignment, breath awareness, and fun. Modifications are offered for every posture. Students are encouraged to work at their own pace and listen to their bodies.
Kiran
is an experienced yoga and fitness teacher with a background in functional and holistic movement practices. She has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and obtained her 200 hour YTT in 2016 in Greece, which then led to continued education in various disciplines such as yin, meditation, fitness, and indoor cycling. Kiran strives to create a space inclusive to all abilities and bodies, ensuring students leave supported and empowered by being connected to mind, body, and soul. With a recent move to Vancouver, Kiran is excited to share her offerings to the health and wellness community and enjoy all this beautiful city has to offer.
Kirsty
is a certified yoga teacher, healthcare professional and a new mum. Her yoga journey had a slow start, from believing that she wasn't flexible enough to realizing that yoga is for every body! Kirsty has found yoga to be a support through the challenges and joys of life. Her hope is to share what she has learned and make yoga accessible for anyone who wants to learn. Her classes have a gentle pace, with a focus on encouraging each person to listen to their own body to find the balance between effort and ease.
Martita
has been teaching yoga and meditation since 2013 and is a 500 hr Certified International Yoga Teacher. Her favorite yoga styles are Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga but she also practices Ashtanga. She has a Ph.D. in Biology and is a Certified International Health Coach in Integrative Nutrition, with specializations in Gut and Hormone Health. She is passionate about Functional Medicine. After healing herself from a severe autoimmune disease 16 years ago through nutrition, stress management and yoga, Martita started helping others to regain balance, health, happiness and wellbeing in a simple and sustainable way. She also loves nature, hiking, horseback riding, music, playing cello & guitar, chanting in kirtans and dancing tango and salsa.
Megha
is a certified yoga instructor with her roots in India. Her 15+ years of practice has been so wonderful that it led her to change her 10 year IT career to teaching yoga. She strives to share the authentic teachings and wisdom of yoga from her rich Bhartiye heritage, with fellow beings while ensuring a safe practice. Megha is passionate about helping people step towards an energetic and joyful lifestyle and discovering the true depths of their minds and soul along with strengthening their body. She seeks to drive passion for yoga among people and assist them to thrive by nurturing their body, mind and soul with their practice.
Noémie
is a Pilates instructor from Nice, France. Her love for movement started at the age of five when she started her dancing lessons. She was introduced to Pilates in her Elementary school. She has experienced a significant improvement in her strength and movement which helped her with her dancing career. Noémie aspired to share the mobility and freedom she gained by practicing Pilates to others. After moving to Vancouver she received her Diploma to become an instructor from Pilates Process Vancouver. She has experience in helping people with mobility issues and back problems. She worked with physiotherapists specializing in pelvic floor and helped pregnant and postpartum women to reconnect with their body. She wants others to realize the true potential of their body and improve mental connection. The happiness she gains from seeing her client’s experience the freedom and strength through Pilates is the biggest reward. Out of the studio she is also super active and loves going to adventure.
Ritu
transformed her life in 2016 by embracing yoga, leaving behind a thriving corporate career. Yoga's profound philosophy struck a chord during a class, igniting Ritu's passion. She specializes in Prenatal, Postnatal, Hormone Healing, and Therapeutic Yoga, offering a holistic approach. Teaching both seasoned yogis and beginners fuels her enthusiasm. She prefers modern Hatha yoga, emphasizing posture stability, mindful breathing, and deep self-awareness. Ritu crafts each class to match her students' energy, aiming to rejuvenate and inspire them on their unique yoga journey. Her mission is to share the transformative power of yoga, making it accessible and beneficial for all.
Shanu
spent her childhood in Rishikesh, the yoga capital of India, itself. Her life is inspired by her parent’s approach towards life by staying calm and composed under any circumstance, with a mix of optimism and clear thinking.

Shanu’s yoga journey started in 2013 with an ambitious idea- could all the people heal themselves in their own space. Her teaching style is traditional hatha although sometimes she likes to mix different styles of yoga to make her classes fun and engaging. Providing a space where anyone can freely laugh and express all their emotions, is one of the goals of her classes.
Shawna
is a lifelong athlete and teacher, inspired to start her journey in Pilates 7 years ago as a means of recovery after experiencing a chronic back injury. Coming from a science background, she quickly began learning all she could about Pilates and mindful movement for injury recuperation and, naturally, began to share everything she learned with anyone who would listen. Today, Shawna spends most of her day in motion, sharing her passion for effective movement with healthy and injured bodies alike. Shawna teaches with a focus on fun, accessible movement in a style that is grounded in her STOTT pilates training, while also incorporating elements of clinical pilates, yoga, functional fitness and the new things she learns every day about how to keep your body moving happily.
Wendy
is an International Yoga, Energy Breathwork Coach, and Meditation Teacher. She started her practice over 10 years ago when she discovered the power of Yoga while looking for balance and healing in her life. Before moving to Canada in 2012, she decided to do her first Yoga Teacher Training in Costa Rica and since then she has been leading classes and international retreats across Canada and Ecuador. Born and raised in Ecuador, Wendy brings to her teachings the spiciness of her heritage and the openness of her heart while leading in her soft voice through a body mindfulness and alignment class while focusing on the expansion of the breath.
