Yoga Poses to Improve Digestion

Remember how you feel after a good body massage? Well, your digestive system feels much the same after a sequence of yoga postures. Your mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine and large intestine make up your digestive system, with your teeth, tongue, salivary glands, liver, gall bladder and pancreas acting as accessory organs. Throughout the day your digestive system is ingesting food, secreting fluids, breaking down and digesting fiber, absorbing nutrients and defecating waste. This is when it is all working correctly.

Sometimes you might experience indigestion, acid reflux, bloating, pain, constipation or diarrhea. A regular practice of Hatha yoga can help prevent these kind of problems or aid in healing many types of chronic digestive complaints. There are certain simple, basic postures that you can easily incorporate into a regular practice. Putting them together in short sequences can be very effective and work within your time constraints. Benefits of Baby Sign Language

There are so many benefits for a baby utilizing Baby Sign Language, it is hard for some enthusiasts to understand why more parents are not teaching their infants this particular form of communication.

Everyone has had moments in their lives when they could not communicate their needs in a way others could understand. The result is a level of frustration beyond compare. Babies are the same as adults in this regard.

Wanting something and being unable to explain what exactly is wanted frequently results in loud crying, utter frustration, and/or tantrums.

Easy Pie Crust (Makes 2 nine inch pie crusts with 8 servings each)

This pie crust has far less fat than common versions. It is also quick to make and delicious to eat!

Maple syrup is a good source of manganese, a trace mineral that is an essential enzyme cofactor, and important component of energy production and disarming free radicals.

1 package (approx. 1/3 pound) natural Graham crackers
2 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons sesame tahini
1 1/2 teaspoons water

1. Pulverize the Graham crackers in a food processor.

2. Add the remaining ingredients and process until well-blended.

3. Press half of mixture into a 9-inch pie pan, firming it well.

4. If an unbaked filling is to be used, bake the crust in an oven heated to 350ºF for 20-30 minutes until lightly browned. Otherwise, add the filling and bake the pie as directed.

Nutritional Information Per Serving: 
Calories 355; fat 4 g (10% of calories from fat); saturated fat 1 g; protein 2.7 g; carbohydrate 81 g; cholesterol 0 mg; sodium 137 mg; fiber 1 g; no saturated fat.
