1)    Family Yoga Classes

Family classes started Monday October 29.  There is still room for one more family to join us.  Class time is 6:00pm - 7:00pm.  Please let me know if you'd like to come.  The classes are offered at Greentree Village, 4295 Garden Grove, Burnaby, near BCIT.  The cost is $38 per person.  You will need to bring your own yoga mats.

Come explore the dimensions of yoga through breath, body movement and imagination with the ones you love. This active yet focused class will help each member of the family become more centered and calm, while increasing flexibility. Postures are chosen that both adult and child can share and explore together.  These classes are best suited for children ages five and up.  Call 604-421-9872 NOW to REGISTER.  For more info see our class schedule at

2)    Invite Us to Work

I wish to thank everyone who has been contacting their friends, family and relatives about our on-site Company classes in the work place.  You're awesome!  We can never have too many classes, so please keep up the good work!  Let everyone know about us.  To thank you, you will be rewarded with $50 for every referral we receive from you that books a minimum of 10 classes with us at their work place on or before January 15 2008.  Please talk with people you know and then pass on their contact information to us so we can set classes up for them.

Imagine relieving your stress and fatigue as you experience the journey to inner peace without ever having to leave the building. Acquaint yourself with the ultimate of rejuvenation and relaxation as you learn to harmonize your body, mind, breath and spirit. Encouraged to work at your own pace, all levels of fitness and flexibility are welcome. Leave the class feeling relaxed with a renewed sense of energy. Both men and women welcome.

We offer qualified instructors to come to your work place and guide classes at lunch time, after work, or whatever time suits you and your fellow co-workers.  Enjoy a break and take some time for yourself and join us for Yoga or Pilates at your place of work.  Call 64-421-9872 now to book the most convenient time for you or to find out more information.

3)    Fall Schedule

Yeah!  The Vancouver strike has been resolved!  Most community centers are open and ready for business.  Some are allowing drop ins only, others are beginning classes early November.  Please check our schedule at to find out what's happening.  Come out and join us!

4)    Detect Breast Lumps Early

I have available a device that is used for self exam breast checks.  It is placed over the breast while you do your monthly exam.  It helps amplify lumps in the breast and the user is more apt to feel the lump sooner than without the device.  It sells for $40 plus taxes.  You can find more information at  I have a limited amount available.  If you'd like to purchase one, please contact me.

5)    Free Monthly Breast Check Reminder

Early detection saves lives and breast self exam/breast awareness along with regular mammograms and medical examination could save your life.  Take control of your health and remember to do your monthly self exams.  To help you remember, sign up for our Free Monthly Breast Check Reminder at  You'll find the link at the lower left hand side of the home page.

6)    16th Annual Wellness Show

8)    Try this Pose

REVOLVING TRIANGLE (Parivrtta Trikonasana)

A more advanced pose, the Revolving Triangle bring balance and poise into play.  Flexibility is increased, the waist line is reduced and the chest is opened.  This posture can help relieve backache and menstrual cramps.  As you move through this pose, pay particular attention to your cervical spine.  Make sure your head isn't flopping.  You want to keep it in line with the rest of your spine.  Looking up is the most challenging position for your neck, looking down is the easiest.

1. Stand erect, with your feet slightly parted.
2. Inhaling, step forward with the left foot bringing it about three feet in front of its original position.
3. Exhaling, lengthen through your spine, bend forward from the hips to bring the right hand down onto the floor beside the left foot.  You can also place your hand on your front leg.
4. Inhaling, raise your left arm towards the ceiling, opening the chest. Continue to push back through the tailbone.
5. Hold posture and breathe.
7. Repeat on the opposite side.

Please note: Do this posture at your own risk.

13)    Quips and Quotes

We gaze at the same stars, the sky covers us all, the same universe encompasses us. What does it matter what practical system we adopt in our search for the truth? Not by one avenue only can we arrive at so tremendous a secret. ~ Symmachus
