3)    Mom & Daughter Yoga

What could be a better way to deepen the bond which has been created between you and your child but through Yoga?  Explore the possibilities of your Yoga as you practice solo and as partners.  Connect with each other through playful asana.  Classes are creative and interpretive and designed for children between the ages of 6 and 12 and Mom.  Classes begin April 23 and are open to a limited number of participants, so register early.  This call is currently held only at Greentree Village in Burnaby.  Check the details for all our classes at www.intoyoga.ca/spring_classes.htm.

4)    Class Day Change At Revs Health Club

We are always trying to better your Yoga experience at Revs.  So to improve our schedule we will be adding a new Saturday morning Yoga class beginning June 2007 from 10:30am - 11:45am.  To implement this, we will be eliminating the Thursday morning 9:00am - 10:15am classes shortly.  If you have been regularly attending the Thursday morning class, you will be notified when the change occurs.  If you do not regularly attend the Thursday morning class, please be sure to call before coming to the class, to make sure it is still running.  Arrangements will be made for anyone that attends this class on a regular basis and still has time left on their flex pass cards.

5)    Try this Pose

PLANK (Chaturanga Dandasana)

A good upper body strengthener, this position is especially good for women.  Helping to strengthen the toes, abdominals, arms and back muscles this posture not only makes the muscles stronger, it will help to keep the bones in the arms strong.

1. Lay on your front, toes curled under, and your forehead on the floor.
2. Place your hands on the floor under your shoulders, palm down, middle fingers in line with your elbows.
3. Keep your elbows tucked in beside your ribcage and your shoulders away from your ears. Inhale.
4. Exhaling, tighten your abdominals, straighten your arms, and push your body up off the floor as in a push up.
5. Looking slightly ahead, hold the posture and breathe.
6. Inhale. Exhaling, bend your elbows, and slowly lower your body back to the floor.
7. Relax.

Please note: Do this posture at your own risk.

Five Fabulous Yoga Retreats

1/2 cup brown rice
6 cups bouillon
3 onions, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
pinch cayenne
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup Italian parsley, chopped
freshly ground black pepper

Bring the split peas, rice and 5 1/2 cups of the bouillon to a boil in a large pot.  Reduce the heat; cover and simmer 45 minutes, or until the peas and rice are both tender.  Meanwhile, cook the onion, garlic and spices in the remaining 1/2 cup of bouillon for 15 minutes.  When the peas and rice are done, stir in the onion mixture, lemon juice and parsley.  Serve with ground black pepper to taste.

This seven minute video http://cleanseyourbody.ca.isagenix.com/flash_viewers/flash_av_multires.html?mid=10606010&t=v explains why there is so much disease and destruction today and how nutritional cleansing can help.  Find out if you're toxic and how to take control of your health.

If you want to supplement or replace your current income, come and listen

There is no obligation to purchase a thing, but you'll sure want to hear what we have to say!  Email me now at info@intoyoga.ca for more information and the location.

12)    Bone Density Clinic

Thank you to all of you who expressed interest in having your bone density tested.  I am still trying to get this clinic to you.  I've met some bumps along the way and have been advised that it will be at least summer before a clinic can be held in the Burnaby area.  If you've contacted me about have the test, I have you on my list.  If you haven't contacted me yet, you may still do so.  I appreciate your patience while things sit in limbo.

Using ultrasound on the radius of the forearm, the procedure is quick (about 10 minutes), painless (no needles) and very accurate. The results are immediate, easily understood, and you can take them directly to your doctor.  Because this test is by ultrasound, it is even safe during pregnancy.  The cost will be under $40 (gst extra).

The company we will be using is OsteoGuard.  They use the very latest equipment and their testers are highly trained experienced professionals.  You can check them online at www.OsteoGuard.com.

If you are interested in participating, please make sure you contact me early at info@intoyoga.ca.  My list is already growing.

13)    Quips and Quotes

No-mind does not mean that you cannot use the mind; it simply means that the mind cannot use you. No-mind does not mean that the mind is destroyed. No-mind simply means that the mind is put aside. You can bring it into action any moment you need to communicate with the world. It will be your servant. Right now it is your master. And remember one thing more: when the mind remains silent for hours, it becomes fresh, young, more creative, more sensitive, rejuvenated through rest. ~ Osho
